Maureen FitzSimons's achievements when she was a teenager in America (which is known as Maureen O'Hara today) would certainly put her in the child-prodigy category. As a person with Irish origins, who was surrounded she was by gifted parents, and her family was naturally gifted, it came as a natural. Maureen was welcomed into the family-oriented house on August 17th, 20 in Ranelagh. The mother of Maureen, Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons, was a talented contralto. The father of her, Charles FitzSimons, managed an enterprise in Dublin as well as owned a part of the well-known Irish soccer club "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen was the third of six FitzSimons children. Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen enjoyed rough sports as young and became very adept at them. Her talent for performing perfectly complemented her love of sports. It was evident that she was the winner of every Feis for drama and theater which Ireland could offer. When she turned 14, she was accepted by the Abbey Theater accepted her and let her live her passion for classical theatre and singing opera.
